## About the show

F!)@# IT Work is what happens when two women who've spent decades in IT stop being polite about it. The bad managers. The meetings about meetings. The guy who re-explained your own architecture back to you. The ones outside of work who weren't any better.

It's also about the good stuff: the work we actually love, the careers we built anyway, and the few women who actually had our backs. Few, because plenty of the others were happy to hold the knife. Expect anger, laughter, real technical talk, and advice we wish someone had given us.

  • 01 War stories from the help desk to the server room
  • 02 Career advice nobody puts in the onboarding doc
  • 03 Actual tech talk, from people who do the work
  • 04 The men who made it hell, and how we outlasted them
  • 05 The rare women who had our backs, and the ones who stabbed them

## Hosts

Blurred silhouette. The host is anonymous.

The Engineer

// Decades in software. Engineer, tech lead, director. Done tolerating it.

She has been writing and shipping software since before most of her coworkers could drive. She has kept critical systems online, consulted for companies you have heard of, climbed from developer to the person who runs the engineering org, and taught the next generation on the side. She has outlasted every man who told her she was too much for the room. She is still in the industry, which is why you don't get her name.

The Analyst

// Health IT. Coordinator. Trainer. Also done tolerating it.

She keeps the day-to-day IT operations of a large public program running. Before that she spent years as a trainer and business analyst, teaching enterprise systems to rooms of two hundred professionals at a time. She has explained software to rooms full of experts and sat in rooms where men explained her own system back to her. She remembers every one of them. She is also still in the industry. Same deal.
